The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has initiated a two-phased approach to implement mandatory Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery survey administration (OAS CAHPS) in Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOPDs) and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) nationally. Part of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) bundle of surveys, the OAS CAHPS survey is designed to measure the experiences of care for patients who visited Medicare-certified HOPDs or ASCs for a surgery or procedure to help inform quality improvement and comparative consumer information about outpatient facilities.
This session will explain the benefits of participating in the program, the implications of participating on your public reporting and financial reimbursement, the timeline and specific requirements outlined in the program’s final rule and ensure that you have taken the necessary steps to prepare your organization to meet CMS’s mandatory requirement.
Ovation Healthcare is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Participants who attend 100% of the program and respond to all of the interactive questions that relate to the content during the program will earn one (1) contact hour (note: contact hours will not be provided to those who listen to the recording).
