Whitney Nesbitt is an infectious diseases-trained pharmacist who currently works as the GSK Vaccines Medical Science Liaison for Tennessee and Kentucky. Prior to joining GSK 2 years ago, Whitney served as the Infectious Diseases (ID) and Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASP) Clinical Pharmacist Specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) for 9 years. During her tenure she co-led the VUMC ASP and Antimicrobial Subcommittee. In addition to her role as the ID and ASP pharmacist, she also started and the led the PGY-2 ID pharmacy residency program at VUMC as the residency program director. Whitney is passionate about mentorship, particularly within the field of ID, as evidenced by her role as the current Infectious Diseases Society of America Mentorship Committee Co-Chair. Whitney also continues to contribute to ID education through authorship within Mandell, Douglas, and Bennett’s Principles and Practice of Infectious Diseases.
