Dr. Dwayne Gunter

Chief Executive Officer

Growing up in a small community in South Carolina, Dwayne learned the meaning of caring for and serving communities from an early age. From his days in little league sports to serving in several countries during his college days, his passion for helping people has been his driving force. Dwayne’s vision to bring a shared service approach to community healthcare formed many years ago during his time in a front row seat at the largest health system. That vision became a reality in Ovation Healthcare.

Dwayne officially began the journey to Ovation Healthcare when it was established as an independent company in 2021. Early in his career, he earned business degrees including his MBA and Doctorate in Business. He lives in Nashville with his wife and is the proud parent of two married sons and a granddaughter, Blakely, who is his pride and joy. He currently sits on the boards of numerous organizations. He is an avid Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Braves fan. Dwayne’s favorite aphorism remains, “Well done is better than well said.”

Scott Gressett serves as Ovation Healthcare’s President. Scott brings a wealth of experience from his more than 25 years in healthcare financial operations. Throughout his career he has been instrumental in building highly effective teams, producing attractive company cultures, developing successful leaders, creating value-added policies, procedures, systems, and operational infrastructure that have resulted in business success and quality patient outcomes.

Brendan Rokke serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Ovation Healthcare as well as the President for Leadership Advisory. Brendan leads corporate strategy for Ovation and its business lines, including the development of organizational growth opportunities. Judd Peak

General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

Judd Peak serves as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Ovation Healthcare, the premier provider of shared services for hospitals and other healthcare providers. In his role, Judd oversees all of Ovation Healthcare’s legal and compliance functions, including contracting and procurement, risk management, litigation, corporate governance, and oversight of the Ovation Healthcare Compliance Program. He represents the company’s interests in all legal matters and provides guidance and advice to all business lines and corporate leadership. Prior to his tenure at Ovation Healthcare, Judd served as general counsel at two healthcare revenue cycle management companies.

He is frequently sought after as a speaker on healthcare legal matters and has published numerous articles and contributed book chapters on healthcare payer issues, privacy regulations, compliance programs, enterprise risk management, and labor relations. Judd serves as a director of the OvationCares Foundation and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Hospital Association.

Kendall Gemmill serves as Ovation Healthcare’s Vice President of Marketing. Kendall brings more than 15 years of marketing experience and nearly a decade within the healthcare sector. Kendall leads a talented team in execution of brand recognition, content, and digital channel strategy, and collaborates with business development in deploying demand generation tactics.

She is passionate about corporate storytelling and furthering Ovation’s mission of strengthening independent healthcare. Kendall also serves on the board for the OvationCares Foundation, Ovation’s charitable arm dedicated to improving health outcomes in the communities it serves.

Associate Vice President, The Learning Institute

Jo Piland serves as AVP of the Ovation Learning Institute (OLI), bringing more than 25 years of experience in marketing and event coordination. As the leader of OLI, Jo is vital to the continuing education of more than 2,500 hospital leaders and boards of directors by facilitating the delivery of over 70 classroom events, webinars, and conferences annually. Jo oversees the strategic direction and implementation of educational events tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Chip Holmes

Executive Vice President, Hospital Operations

Chip serves as Executive Vice President, Hospital Operations. Chip has more than 30 years of progressive executive healthcare experience and a strong track record for leading Hospitals and Health Systems, Governance, and Leadership Teams in and through effective transformational strategy development and execution. 

Chip has served in small and large non-profit and for-profit facilities and their respective health care systems in both rural and urban settings. Along with a talented Team of Hospital Operators, Chip provides oversight and support for more than 55 Ovation Healthcare hospitals, is an American College of Health Executives Fellow, and received the ACHE Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year in 2005.

With more than 40 years in health care operations and finance, Herb’s professional experience spans from CPA at one of the nation’s largest public accounting firms, to serving as a chief financial officer and LTC administrator in the private healthcare sector at rural hospitals and long-term skilled unit facilities. For Ovation Healthcare, Herb provides managerial support and financial expertise to the executives and community board members he serves, keeping the hospital financially viable and an integral part of the community it serves.

Sam Brown

Group Vice President

Sam brings more than 40 years of healthcare experience as a financial leader and advisor in both for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals and health systems. Much of Sam’s experience includes chief financial officer and vice president of finance roles for rural and community hospitals. He has also served as vice president of finance – hospital division for a for-profit, urban healthcare system. Sam serves Ovation Healthcare clients providing assistance for financial monitoring, oversight, advisory services, hospital operations, accounting, revenue enhancement, cost reduction, debt financing, managed care, financial analysis and feasibility, strategic financial planning and multi-facility management.

Erika Sundrud

Group Vice President

Erika brings 20+ years of experience in healthcare with a focus on operations excellence and improved care delivery. With a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology, Master Black Belt in Lean and Six Sigma, and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification, Erika expertly designs and improves upon care variation across the continuum of healthcare. An authority on improving quality at rural and community hospitals and healthcare systems alike, she advises clients, boards and senior leaders using her extensive knowledge in developing and leading large projects focused on improving the patient care experience and transitions in care, while stabilizing per capita cost.

Ryan Nestrick

Group Vice President

Ryan has vast experience advising boards and leadership teams in making confident actionable decisions to improve healthcare in their community. He works with healthcare organizations to understand their current position and future desired position and is passionate about access to healthcare and how consumers are shaping the future of delivery. When working with Ovation Healthcare clients, he focuses on deploying governance principles and aligning organizational strategy with local action plans to ensure that access to healthcare is advanced throughout their communities.

With more than 22 years in healthcare finance, Eric’s professional experience has advanced from investment analyst and due diligence coordinator roles to progressive financial operations responsibilities across several large acute care hospitals, hospital turnaround project management, and regional financial operations leadership to Ovation Healthcare client hospitals in the eastern division. As Vice President of Finance and Turnarounds, Eric leads Ovation Healthcare’s intensive corporate operating review process and serves the organization’s client hospitals in the development and execution support of financial operations

Suzette Duhé

Vice President, Finance

Suzette Duhé brings 9 years of healthcare service experience with a Big Four accounting firm to her role as Vice President of Finance with Ovation Healthcare. Other past experience includes roles in financial operations at for-profit, governmental and not-for-profit systems in Mississippi and Louisiana. She has also served as Chief Financial Officer of a physician-owned hospital, governmentally-owned hospitals, private-equity owned hospitals and clinics, and for-profit psychiatric hospital and clinics.

Thomas Florian

Associate Vice President, Workforce Productivity and Performance Improvement

Thomas has over a decade of experience developing performance improvement strategies and tools designed to promote safe, effective patient care and operational sustainability for healthcare organizations. With a background in industrial engineering, he began his career as a management engineer in a small community hospital where he first recognized the significance of ensuring the future of independent community health organizations. He now supports that mission as a leader on the operational improvement team, overseeing our Vantage Workforce Productivity tool and analytics team.

Josh Sandler

President, Supply & Expense

As president of Spend Management, Josh oversees total spend management and solutions for clients encompassing all non-payroll spend. He previously served as vice president of strategic sourcing and capital equipment services at HealthTrust where he was responsible for a five-billion-dollar in GPO portfolio spend and capital equipment advisory services.

He has also held leadership roles including vice president of sourcing at Resource Optimization & Innovation (ROi), a HealthTrust company, where he oversaw the ROi private label, Regard, as well GPO sourcing and operations responsibility for over $4b in contracted spend covering medical, pharmacy, and purchased services. Prior to embarking on a career in healthcare, Josh served for several years as a supply officer in the US Navy.

Nicholas Meyer

Vice President, Client Engagement

Nicholas Meyer serves as Ovation Healthcare’s Vice President of Client Engagement, bringing 16 years of extensive experience, primarily in account management and strategic consulting. His innovative approach to understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions results in high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Nicholas has supported many HPG health systems in the past and is dedicated to fostering strong, collaborative relationships that drive mutual success and growth.

Chris Little

Vice President, Pharmacy

Chris Little is VP of Pharmacy for Ovation Healthcare joining the team in 2023. Chris is a graduate of Drake University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital and a specialized residency in Health System Pharmacy Practice Administration (PGY2) at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. Prior to joining the Ovation team, Chris served as the Senior Director for Pharmacy Innovation at HealthTrust and was Executive Director of Clinical services for ROi. He has served in roles including Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy Director and Associate Chief for Pharmacy Operations in both the private and federal sectors.

Brittany Clark

Associate Vice President, Supply Chain & Head of Strategic Sourcing

Brittany is a healthcare leader with nearly 20 years of experience and a background in strategic sourcing, finance, customer service, portfolio management, as well as acute care experience. She has a passion for connecting, developing and empowering teams, while maintaining a strong focus on quality results that will positively impact patient care and the clients and communities they serve. Prior to Ovation Healthcare, Brittany held a number of leadership roles at HealthTrust where she oversaw strategic sourcing, PPE categories and medical capital equipment.

Whitney Neace

Senior Director, Pharmacy Operations
Whitney Neace, PharmD comes to the Pharmacy Optimization Team having most recently practiced in rural hospital pharmacy administration. Whitney spent several years in retail pharmacy management as well. During her tenure as a Director of Pharmacy Whitney developed several clinical stewardship programs including antimicrobial, opioid, and anticoagulant. She excelled in inventory management by increasing her sites inventory turns, controlling inventory costs while maintaining contract adherence. Her time served on several advisory boards has made her an expert in USP compliance and education, regulatory and compliance standards, and diversion monitoring.

Andrew Bargsten

Director, Client Success

With an operations background and recent focus on healthcare supply chain, Andrew brings valuable insight and knowledge to fully optimize supply chain performance in Ovation Healthcare’s network of hospitals. Recognizing that every client is unique, he is passionate about understanding each client’s specific needs and continuously looks for creative solutions to address those needs.

Hailey Meadows

Vice President, Business Development

Hailey brings 10 years of healthcare leadership, sales, business development, marketing, and product development experience to the organization. Most of Hailey’s career has been focused on bringing innovative solutions and services to the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Ovation, Hailey worked in the building technology industry to bring smart building solutions to new hospitals, medical office buildings, life sciences, and laboratories.

Hailey also spent 8 years at DeRoyal Industries where she led sales for their Continuum platform, an operating room software and hardware solution. In these roles, Hailey has worked closely with organizations across the industry including notable hospitals, large healthcare systems, provider groups, and GPOs.

Scott Cooper

President, RCM

Scott brings more than 15 years of experience in revenue cycle management to Amplify. His career began at companies athenahealth and Nexus Healthcare Solutions where he focused on building tech-enabled revenue cycle services coupled with offshore capabilities to help business find opportunities at scale. At McKinsey & Company, he advised national health systems and RCM service providers on large-scale, operational transformations and performance programs focused on yield improvement and cost reduction. Most recently at Tegria, he led all revenue cycle services, transformation, and integration across the enterprise.

Peter Miessner

Senior Vice President, Client Services

Peter brings over 25 years of healthcare operational experience working with home health, ASCs, small rural facilities to large systems. Peter has built teams to improve operations in a variety of areas from revenue cycle to IT, to consulting and non-licensed clinical areas. His vast experience in various departments and organizations of healthcare allows him to bring a unique perspective and tactical advice to Ovation Healthcare, driving solutions that allow clients to meet strategic initiatives.

Wanda Wright

Vice President, Managed Care

Wanda brings over 20 years of experience in both provider and payer settings to Ovation Healthcare, with a strong background in managed care contracting. Wanda has found great professional success in designing and implementing effective managed care strategies and advising health systems through negotiations resulting in improved contract administration and yields. Prior to shifting her focus to the provider setting, Wanda worked for several major insurance companies where her responsibilities included recruiting, educating, and maintaining physician networks, hospitals, and ancillary providers.

Glenda Tankersley

Senior Vice President, Enterprise Operations

Glenda brings over 30 years of experience across the entire revenue cycle with a strong background in operational oversight, support, and planning. Glenda has also been qualified as an Expert Witness, providing testimony during depositions and at numerous trials in the state of Texas for the past 15 years. At Ovation, Glenda is responsible for RCM oversight for insource and cash acceleration engagements, facilitating and conducting RCM assessments, and she ensures that a high level of client trust is achieved through team participation and service delivery.

Terri Edger

Vice President, Patient Services

Terri Edger brings over 27 years of experience in the customer service industry. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a strong focus on process improvement and driving results. Most recently, Terri has spent the last 10 years in revenue cycle management with focus on patient services and self-pay collections. Her focus on the patient experience, continuous improvement, and her ability to identify and implement innovative solutions have led to significant cost savings, increased revenue, and improved efficiencies in the organizations she has worked with while maintaining a world class experience for the patients.

John Filipovich is an IT Production Operations professional with years of account delivery experience in multiple industries, including healthcare and life sciences.
