Reimbursement & Regulatory Update: Medicare Inpatient Proposed Rules

Webinar

Reimbursement policies and regulatory frameworks are subject to ongoing change. The proposed updates for federal fiscal year 2027 are expected to significantly impact Medicare inpatient reimbursement, with implications for reimbursement in subsequent years. It is important that hospitals thoroughly understand the significant policy issues and material reimbursement developments shaping the healthcare landscape.

Join Patrick Nudo, Ovation Healthcare’s Associate Vice President of Healthcare Finance & Reimbursement, as he explores the proposed reimbursement updates and provides guidance your hospital can incorporate during the strategic planning and budgeting processes. Key topics include:

  • Changes in reimbursement and payment policies, or policy interpretations, by CMS
  • Payment rate updates, uncompensated care cost reimbursement, and hospital wage index changes
  • Cost reporting developments and other payment policies proposed by CMS for the 2027 federal fiscal year that impact hospital inpatient reimbursement
  • An overview of the CMS annual rulemaking process and key reimbursement filing dates in summer 2026
